PR & BRAND STRATEGIST / WRITER

MAGIC: Words have power and Courtney has been drawn to their transformative world-creating ways since she was a kiddo penning bad poetry on the playground. A journal-keeping veteran, avid reader, and former journalist, Courtney is as comfortable whipping up a pithy social media post as she is deep diving into brand creation and development.


PROOF: From being published in Bust Magazine and Dallas Morning News to getting national coverage for her clients in USA Today and Time Magazine, Courtney has an extensive PR background. She now crafts content calendars, creates tailored press lists, and drafts pitches and press releases that elevate our client’s stories.


FAMOUS FOR: An independent copywriter for nearly 20 years, Courtney has worked both in-house and at agencies, mostly European, as she lived in the UK and Belgium for seven years. She started Gent Go-Go Roller Derby, Belgium’s first roller derby team, got a dog, got married, and had a baby before returning stateside.

JOSEPH SHONS

DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER

MAGIC: Having grown up in a small country town in Eastern Washington, Joseph always dreamed of exploring and adventure, which led him to Portland, OR. This is where he began his academic career studying philosophy. Loving the study of logic and argumentation, he transitioned that passion for critical thinking towards an Economics degree, which then transitioned to general business and ultimately resulted in a double major in marketing and advertising management with minors in economics and philosophy. Curiosity and wondering "What if?" are what sets Joseph apart from his peers.


PROOF: Joseph began his professional marketing career early in 2013 and has become a successful Google ads marketing expert. Having worked on big brands like Pandora Jewelry, Moda Health, and several travel and tourism agencies, Joseph meets any and all challenges the digital world throws at him with tact, pride, and often humor. 


FAMOUS FOR: Analyzing and assessing any situation, finding faults and learning how to fix them. Joseph's background in managing Google ads campaigns grew into much more including basic website coding, configuring tag manager and analytics, learning how to set up shopping and merchant centers and more. While Joseph is a great team player and patient, he often takes the initiative to learn how to do something himself. Joseph also loves sharing his findings, and their source, making him an excellent teacher who has coached and trained countless new hires and interns to help infuse his passion into their work.

MAGIC: Kristen was born with a love for stories. Whether it was reading them, writing them or learning of someone else’s story. That connection grew into a love of language, books, music and culture. It’s no surprise that her love turned into her work crafting stories for brands too. Combine that with her organization and time management skills learned as an editor for a corporate communications firm, add a pinch of love for learning about new industries, innovation, people and places, and you have the perfect Operations Manager for a marketing agency.


PROOF: Kristen has worked with Fortune 500 brands in the automotive, activewear & entertainment industries, as well as with celebrities and Olympic athletes. From established food and beverage manufacturers to boots-on-the-ground startups, managing everything from demanding publication schedules to new product launches.
